4-H FAVORITE FOOD SHOW SET FOR FEBRUARY 5th
The 2011 4-H Favorite Food Show is scheduled for Saturday, February 5th, 1:00 - 2:45 PM at the Cumberland Mall.
“This marks the 37th year that the Millville Kiwanis Club has been sponsoring this 4-H cooking and table-setting contest,” reports Jeannette Rea-Keywood, County 4-H Agent. Supporting boys and girls who take part in events such as this falls under Kiwanis’ interest and support of youth.
The 4-H Favorite Food Show, now in its 61st year, is a cooking, table-setting and meal-planning contest. Each participant creates a table setting, centerpiece and a favorite food and prepares a copy of the recipe and a well balanced written menu. The finished product is displayed on tables throughout the Mall.
The public is invited to see the many homemade foods and table settings which will be displayed on February 5th at the Cumberland Mall between 1:00 - 2:45 PM.
The 4-H Youth Development Program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, a unit of the New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station is open to youth in grades K-13 (one year out of high school) regardless of race, color, national origin, gender, religion, sexual orientation or disability.
