4/2/2011 - 4-H Dog Extravaganza

The Cumberland county 4-H Program will be hosting the Dog Extravaganza on Saturday, April 2, 10 AM-3 PM at the Cumberland County Fairgrounds on Carmel Road in Millville. The 4-H Dog Extravaganza will include dog grooming, dog obedience, performance dog and Seeing Eye dog demonstrations and live 4-H presentations. Highlights of the day are the 4-H Dog Show; dog costume class; a dog skill-a-thon, pictures with your dog, agility run-throughs and an AKC Show & Go.

Many local businesses will be on hand with dog as well as pet food nutrition talks and displays. Other exhibits will include dog rescue and adoption; rabies information; dog toys and animal crafts. Face painting and activities for children offer something for everyone.

The 4-H Dog and Seeing Eye Clubs are sponsoring this dog Extravaganza as an event open to the public to educate pet owners about care, nutrition and breeds associated with dog ownership.

4-H staff will be on hand to talk to prospective 4-H members and their parents about joining the Cumberland 4-H Program. A food booth will be available with snacks, lunch items and baked goods.

This is a very information day for both children and adults and makes a great family outing.

4-H is a community of young people across America learning leadership, citizenship and life skills!
