Upper Deerfield Environmental Commission Discusses Cohansey Pollution

A special program about the pollution affecting the lakes along the Cohansey River

will be hosted by the Upper Deerfield Township Environmental Commission on Tuesday, June 14, at 7 p.m. The workshop will be held at the Edgar Joyce Senior Center next to the Upper Deerfield Municipal Building on Route 77.

A panel of local experts will discuss the sources of the chemicals, silt and algae that are affecting the lakes and suggest ways to correct the problem. Speakers include Matthew Blake, manager, Delaware Bay Program, American Littoral Society; Philip Arsenault, AmeriCorps NJ Watershed Ambassador; and Salvatore Mangiafico, Environmental and Resource Management Agent, Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Salem County.
