Bridgeton Library Announces Activities for January
Preschool Story Time
Tuesdays, January 10, 17, 24, and 31 at 10:30 am. Children ages 2-6 and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs, finger plays, crafts and a snack. Story time is free and does not require registration.
Teen Tuesday – A weekly program for teens ages 12-18 funded by a Community Development Block Grant.
Tuesday, January 3 at 6pm – Teen Library Council Meeting. TLC members help plan programs for teens and children, help choose new books for the library, and much more! New members welcome.
Tuesday, January 13 at 6pm – Teen Video Games. Come and play video games on our big screen. We have XBOX 360, Wii, PS2 and Gamecube. Participants are welcome to bring their own games to share.
Tuesday, January 10 at 6pm – Teen Anime Night. Teens can watch newly released anime & help choose new anime and manga for the library. Those who like to draw are encouraged to bring their art. No registration required.
Tuesday, January 24 at 6pm – Teen Iron Chef Competition – Teens are invited to see if they have what it takes to be the next Bridgeton Library Iron Chef! Participants will be challenged to combine assorted ingredients to create a winning dish. Registration required.
Tuesday, January 31 at 6pm - Teen Book Discussion – Teens are invited to take part in a discussion of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. Participants will receive a free copy of the book when they register. Those taking books must attend the discussion. Registration required. Funded by a Community Development Block Grant.
Book Discussion
Monday, January 9 at 1:30 pm. Featured book: The Places In Between by Rory Stewart.
Video Games for Ages 9-11.

Friends of the Bridgeton Library Meeting
Tuesday, January 17 at 7pm. Come out and learn how you can help your library. New members are always welcome!
Lego Club
Saturday, January 21, 1-2:30 pm. – Kids ages five and up are invited to attend our new Lego program where we will listen to stories based on a theme, and
then build our own creations to go with that theme. Lego blocks will be supplied by the library – please do not bring your own blocks. Registration is required.
Funded by a Community Development Block Grant for Library Programming.
Craft Program
Thursday, January 26, 6-7:30 pm. Kids, ages nine to eleven, are invited to create a craft based on stories from around the world. This month we will read Inuit stories and experiment with soap carving. Registration is required.
Holiday Hours
New Year’s Holiday – Monday, January 2. The library will be closed.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – Monday, January 16. The library will be closed.
