Bridgeton Library Announces Activities for March

Preschool Story Time
Tuesdays, March 13, 20, and 27 at 10:30 am. Children ages 2-6 and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs, finger plays, crafts and a snack. Story time is free and does not require registration.

Story and Craft
Tuesdays, March 13, 20 and 27 at 10:30 am. Kids ages 7 and up are invited to share stories, activities and crafts. This program will take place at the same time as our Preschool Story Time and is perfect for older siblings! Homeschoolers are welcome. Registration requested.

Teen Tuesday – A weekly program for teens ages 12-18 funded by a Community Development Block Grant.

  • Tuesday, March 13 at 6pm
    • Teen Library Council Meeting. TLC members help plan programs for teens and children, help choose new books for the library, and much more! New members welcome.
  • Tuesday, March 20 at 6pm
    • Teen Anime Night. Teens can watch anime & help choose new anime and manga for the library. Those who like to draw are encouraged to bring their art. No registration required.
  • Tuesday, March 27 at 6pm
    • Teen Movie & Pizza – Enjoy some delicious pizza while watching John Hughes’ classic 80’s movie about how playing hooky for a single day can produce a lifetime’s worth of adventure. Matthew Broderick is Ferris, a guy who knows the value of a day off. Rated PG-13.

Student Artist Reception
Student Artists will be recognized with an Artists’ Reception at the Bridgeton Public Library on Thursday, March 8th from 4 to 7pm. Art from several area schools will be exhibited throughout the library in celebration of Youth Art Month. There is no charge for the event and refreshments will be provided by the Friends of the Library.

Night Out at the Movies
Thursday, March 15 at 6 pm – Adults and teens are invited to watch a film based on a case study by Dr. Oliver Sacks, and featuring music from Bob Dylan, The Beatles, and Grateful Dead. This film chronicles the heartwarming journey of a father and son adjusting to cerebral trauma and a lifetime of missed opportunities through the music that embodied the generation gap of the 1960’s. Rated PG. Enjoy our free popcorn or bring your own snacks.

Lego Club
Saturday, March 17, 1-2:30 pm. – Kids ages five and up are invited to attend our new Lego program where we will listen to stories based on a theme, and then build our own creations to go with that theme. Lego blocks will be supplied by the library – please do not bring your own blocks. Registration is required. Funded by a Community Development Block Grant for Library Programming.

Friends of the Bridgeton Library Meeting
Tuesday, March 20 at 7pm. Come out and learn how you can help your library. New members are always welcome!

Family Movie Night
Thursday, March 29 at 6pm. The Muppet Theater is in danger of being torn down by the greedy oilman, Tex Richman. Can Walter, Mary and Gary help Kermit the Frog to reunite the Muppets so they can stage The Greatest Muppet Telethon Ever? Will they raise the $10-million needed to save the theater? Children and families are invited to find out in this heart-warming and hilarious movie! Rated G. Bring your own snacks or enjoy our free popcorn.
