Cumberland County Library Children’s Reading Program
Tuesday, October 29th at 6:30pm celebrate Halloween with the Cumberland County Library! Children are invited to wear their costumes or their pj’s to listen to spooky stories. When children arrive, Miss Melody will put a sign on their back with the name of a Halloween creature. Children will ask each other yes or no questions to try and guess what creature they are. Parents are encouraged to participate in the activity. Winners receive prizes.
Miss Melody will be telling a spooky story and passing around bags with surprising things inside for children to feel. At the end of the story, they will have a chance to guess what was in each bag. Finally, to get them moving, children will play Halloween tag. After being assigned a team, children will stand around the room. People who are “it” will be sitting in the middle of the room (the graveyard). When the team name is called out, the children run across the room trying not to get tagged by the people in the graveyard. Last two people standing are the winners. Miss Melody will have a special Halloween treat for those who attend.
Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce St. (Route 49), Bridgeton, NJ. Call 856-453-2210 ext. 101 for further information.
