Children’s Program to Focus on African Mask Making
To celebrate Black History Month, Cumberland County Library is hosting a children’s program on the art and meaning of the African Mask with the popular Christina Campbell on Saturday, February 21, at 10:30 AM in the library meeting room on the lower level.
Children will learn about the African mask and incorporate the principles in a more personal way for each. Ms. Campbell will also focus on Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of unity though all are different. To make the experience more meaningful, participants are encouraged to bring photos of their grandparents and information on their ancestors -- cultural information, coat of arms, family genealogy, etc.
While the program is free, please note that registration is required for this program. Participants should sign up at the main desk or call the library at (856) 453-2210, extension 101. Registration deadline is February 17. Cumberland County Library is located at 800 E. Commerce St. (State Route 49) in Bridgeton.
