CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Story Time
Thursdays, January 4, 11, 18 & 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read.

Experiential Arts Labs with Appel Farm
Saturdays, January 6, 13, 20 & 27, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Join Appel Farm for a transformative arts and learning experience! Students immerse themselves in games and techniques exploring various forms of creative enrichment including dance and movement, music and sound, and visual arts. ArtsLab kids develop their artistic skills, learn to express themselves, and have fun!

Baby/Toddler Time
Mondays, January 8, 22 & 29, 10:30-11 a.m.

FURever As Friends Reading Program
Monday, January 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams will be available to help kids practice their
reading. Participants can bring a book from home or choose one at the library.

Homeschool Story & STEAM
Wednesday, January 10, 2-3:30 p.m.

Homeschool families are invited to a new monthly program at the Cumberland County Library! Each month we’ll feature a book from our collection and pair it with a STEAM activity. This month’s book will be Snowflake Bentley by Jacqueline Briggs Martin & illustrated by Mary Azarian. This program is recommended for school-aged students grades K - 6.

Tween Coloring and Cocoa Party
Monday, January 22, 6-7:30 p.m.

Ages 9-12
Tweens ages 9-12 are invited to relax, color and enjoy some delicious hot cocoa!

Lego Club
Wednesday, January 24, 4-5 p.m.

Kids ages 5-12 and their families are invited to a new program! Come in between 4 and 5 p.m. to build using our large collection of bricks and minifigures!

Dungeons and Dragons for Ages 10-12
Saturday, January 27, 2-4 p.m.

Come learn the basics of character creation, role playing, combat skills, and more of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. Players of all experience levels are welcome but the program is geared towards beginner players.

Teen Volunteer Meeting
Tuesday, January 9, 6-7 p.m.
Teens, 13-18

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make a difference at the library while earning volunteer time. Members help to plan events for teens and kids, suggest books for the library, and much more.

Teen Weaving Art Program
Tuesday, January 16, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to use a tree branch and yarn to create a unique weaving project.

Teen Book Discussion
Tuesday, January 23, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to discuss The Inheritance Games by Jennifer Lynn Barnes. While supplies last, teens can receive a free copy of the book when they register and as long as they attend the discussion.

Teen Dungeons and Dragons
Tuesday, January 30
5:30-7:30 p.m.

Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Pre-made characters will be available for those that need them.
