CHILDREN’S PROGRAMS

Baby and Toddler Time
Mondays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29, 10:30-11 a.m.

Children ages 2 and younger and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs and fingerplays!

Leap into Science “Light and Shadow” Family Night!
Monday, April 1, 6:30 p.m.

Families are invited to celebrate the upcoming eclipse at our special family night! We’ll explore the science of light and shadow with stories, hands-on experiments and crafts. While supplies last, participants will receive free solar eclipse glasses to use during the April 8 eclipse.

Story Time
Thursdays, April 4, 11, 18 & 25 at 10:30 a.m.

Children ages 3-5 and a caregiver can join us as we share stories, songs, movement activities and a craft! Library story times are a fun way to help your child develop skills they will need to be ready to read. Registration is required.

Together Time with Appel Farm
Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.

Children ages 12 months through Kindergarten and their caregivers are invited to play, explore, discover, and create together! Our journey begins with a shared picture book to spark excitement and engagement around a theme. Participants discover hands-on ways to learn, create, and have fun through music, movement, sensory, and art activities. Play clothes are recommended for kids and adults!

FURever As Friends Reading Program
Monday, April 8, 6:30-7:30 p.m.

Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams will be available to help kids practice their reading. Participants can bring a book from home or choose one at the library. Registration is required. Homeschool Story & STEAM
Wednesday, April 10, 2-3:30 p.m.

Homeschool families are invited to a new monthly program at the Cumberland County Library! Each month we’ll feature a book from our collection and pair it with a STEAM activity. This program is recommended for school-aged students grades K - 6.

Experiential Arts Lab with Appel Farm
Thursday, April 18, 6-7 p.m.

Kids in Kindergarten through 6th grade can join Appel Farm for a transformative arts and learning experience! Students immerse themselves in games and techniques exploring various forms of creative enrichment including dance and movement, music and sound, and visual arts. ArtsLab kids develop

Dungeons and Dragons for Ages 10-12
Saturday, April 20, 2-4 p.m.

LEGO Club
Wednesday, April 24, 6-7 p.m.

Kids ages 5-12 and their families are invited to a new monthly program! Come in between 4 and 5 p.m. to build using our large collection of bricks and minifigures. Ideas and new challenges will be provided each month. Registration is required. Registration link:

Drum2BFit for Kids!
Monday, April 29, 6:30 p.m.

Kids ages 3-12 are invited to participate in a fun, high energy program that combines cardio and music while beating a drum to their favorite tunes! Miss Val, a certified cardio  drumming instructor, will guide kids through basic movements like squatting, bending, twisting and  drumming. This class promotes physical health, boosts mental health and just happens to be a whole lot of fun! All equipment will be provided. Registration is

Teen Volunteer Meeting
Tuesday, April 2, 6-7 p.m.
Teens, 13-18

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to make a difference at the library while earning volunteer time. Members help to plan events for teens and kids, suggest books for the library, and much more.

Teen Poetry Program
Tuesday, April 9, 6-7:30 p.m.

It’s National Library Week and National Poetry Month! To celebrate, teens ages 13-18 are invited to create poetry with library books! We’ll make blackout poetry using pages from discarded books, magazines and newspapers, and book spine poetry using current library books. Registration is

Teen Coffeehouse
Tuesday, April 16, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens are invited to celebrate National Poetry Month at our Teen Coffeehouse! Read a poem, sing a song, play an instrument or show off any talent you have! Or, just come for the show and snacks!

Teen Dungeons and Dragons
Tuesday, April 23, 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Pre-made characters will be available for those that need them. Registration is required. Registration link:

Teen “Earth Month” Book Discussion
Tuesday, April 30, 6-7:30 p.m.

Teens ages 13-18 are invited to discuss The Story of More: How We Got to Climate Change and Where to Go From Here: Adapted for Young Adults by Hope Jahren. Weather permitting, our discussion will take place outside.

future.”
