May 2025 Older Americans Month Senior Events

All Tuesdays and Fridays – Exercise Programs – 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Vineland Housing Authority Brown Community Center, Tarklin Acres, 191 W. Chestnut Ave., Vineland, NJ 08360.

Tuesdays – “Stay Active and Independent for Life” (SAIL Exercise Program) by PRAC of SNJ.

Monday, May 5th – Wise/Wellness Initiative for Senior Education – 10:00 am to 11:30 am will be held at the Louise E. Moore Senior Center at 8879 Highland Street, Haleyville, NJ. The Educational Class will start on Monday, May 5, 2025, and run for 6 weeks. All seniors 60 and over are welcome to attend. Please call and reserve your spot. Tuesday, May 6th– Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disabled’s Spring Expo Day at the Cumberland Mall, 3849 S. Delsea Drive Vineland– 11am-3pm. Area agencies will have table information as well as some presentations in the Boscov’s Mall corridor. For more information, contact the Office on Aging at 856-453-2220.

Tuesday, May 6th - Nutrition Sharing Centers Mother’s Day Luncheon - 11:30am to 1:00pm at the County Congregate Nutrition Sites. A special Mother’s Day menu will be served, and flowers will be given to attending mothers. Reservations are required by May 1, 2025. Wednesday, May 7th—Fancy Tea Party – 10:00 am – 11:00 am hosted by the Louise E. Moore Senior Center, located at 8879 Highland Street, Port Norris, NJ 08349. All seniors 60 and over are welcome to attend our Fancy Tea Party. You may wear your hats, gloves, ties, and jewelry if you like. This event is for both ladies and gentlemen. Wednesday, May 7th - Spring Oak Senior Carnival - From 12:00 pm- 2:00 pm Spring Oak Senior Living, located at 1611 South Main Rd., Vineland, NJ 08360 will be having a Senior Carnival! Games, food and refreshments at a carnival themed event. Hosted at Spring Oak Senior Living. Open house style includes tours of the building as well. Tuesday, May 13th — Ice Cream Sundae Social from 12:30 noon - 1:30 pm. Come join us for a sweet treat! All seniors are invited to participate in our Ice Cream Sundae Social for Older American Month. The Cumberland County Nutrition Program will be hosting this event. Reservations are required by May 1, 2025. Wednesday, May 14th – Open House – 11:00am – 1:00pm at the Margaret Winchester Enrichment Center for the Blind & Visually Impaired, 168 Sunny Slope Drive, Bridgeton, NJ 08302. Come see what the blind and visually impaired of Cumberland County are doing in your community. There will be crafts on display and for sale that were made by the blind and visually impaired. Thursday, May 15th – Senior Life Planning Breakfast – Registration at 8:30 am. Starting at 9:00 am. Golden Palace Diner & Restaurant, 2326 S. Delsea Drive, Vineland, NJ 08360. Sponsored by Big Oak Rehab, Bratton Law Group and Angelic Health. For registered attendees they will get free breakfast and information on the Five most important documents along with programs and services for life changing events. Friday, May 16, 2025 – Senior Pinochle Tournament – Starting at 1:00 pm at the Charlotte Brago Senior Center, 736 Landis Avenue, Rosenhayn, located behind the Municipal Building. Hosted by the Deerfield Township Seniors and sponsored by the Cumberland County Office on Aging & Disabled and the Cumberland County Recreation Commission. Experienced players call to reserve a seat (seating is limited). Leave a message with your full name, address, and telephone number. The last day for registration is Monday, May 12th. Light refreshments will be served. Trophies (1st and 2nd top scores) awarded to Cumberland County residents only. To register, contact the Center at 856-455-6902.

Saturday, May 17th - Senior Dance – 1:00pm – 4:00 pm – Maurice River Township Senior Center & MRT Municipal Alliance, located at Leechester Hall, 548 Main St., Leesburg, NJ 08327 will be hosting a Senior Dance free of charge for seniors. Music will be provided by “Buckshutem Country Band”. Food and beverages will be served. Covered dishes, desserts and snacks are appreciated, but not necessary (tips for the band as well as monetary donations for food are also appreciated). Wednesday, May 21st - Millville Senior Citizen BBQ - from 11:30 am – 1:30 pm – The City of Millville Recreation Dept. will be honoring our Senior Citizens with a free BBQ lunch. The event is to be held at the Millville Elks Lodge, 1815 E. Broad St., Millville, NJ 08332. This event is open to the first 200 Millville Seniors who are registered with our department. Seniors are treated to a full afternoon of fun, with music, food and door prizes. Registration begins May 1st. Register by calling 856 -825-7000 x7394.

This event is open to residents over 55 years of age. Activities will include games & corn hole, raffles 50/50 and a picnic lunch. Registrations are required by March 8, 2025. Tuesday, May 27th – “Flipping the Script on Bingo Aging” - 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at the Lawrence Township Senior Center at 14 Mulford Ave., Cedarville, NJ 08311. We are flipping the script on Bingo! Our center loves our monthly Bingo. We’ve hosted the 8th Grade Honor Society students in the past, proving all ages love Bingo! It’s not just a social event for the aging.
