Baby and Toddler Stay & Play!
Monday, February 2, 10:30-11:30 a.m.
Children ages 2 and younger and a caregiver are invited for stories, songs and fingerplays followed by a play session with toys provided by the Shirley Eves Center Toy Library! Story Time

Take Your Child to the Library Day
Saturday, February 7, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Kids of all ages are invited to celebrate Take Your Child to the Library Day at the Cumberland County Library! Build with our LEGOs, complete a scavenger hunt for a small prize, and take a picture at our photo station! Participating children will receive a free gift book! Registration is not required.
FURever As Friends Reading Program
Monday, February 9, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Children and teens of all ages are invited to come read to a fabulous furry friend! FURever as Friends therapy pet teams will be available to help kids practice their reading. Participants can bring a book from home or choose one at the library. Registration is required. “African Folktales from Around the World"

The Friends of the Cumberland County Library invite you to an enchanting evening of global storytelling with Michelle Washington Wilson, one of New Jersey’s most beloved storytellers. In African Folktales From Around the World, Michelle transports audiences on a magical journey—no passport required—as she shares classic and original tales that celebrate culture, imagination, and the universal joy of story.
As part of this special program, Michelle also presents selections from “Anansi Spins, Stories with Friends,” bringing the legendary Anansi the Spider—and his folklore kin, Brer Rabbit—to life with humor, energy, and heart. Her storytelling is warm, mesmerizing, and truly magical—an experience that reminds us how stories braid memory and build bridges across generations.

Teen Lock-In “Escape the Upside Down!”
Friday, February 13, 6:30-9:30 p.m.
Teens 13-18 are invited to “Escape the Upside Down” in an after-hours event at the Cumberland County Library!
Attendees will test their skills while participating in “strange” challenges based on a popular TV series set in the 1980s. Pizza will be provided and teens can make their own dessert at our waffle bar.
Registration is required for this program, as is a permission slip signed by the teen’s parent or guardian. Permission slips are available in the Youth Services Department or online when registering.

Teens 13-18 are invited to join our Dungeon Master as he leads us through a monthly D & D adventure. Tabletop/role playing experience is not required and new players are welcome. Cumberland County Teens Read!
The Cumberland County Teens Read program is an ongoing challenge designed to foster a love of reading in teens ages 13-18. The Reel Thing
