JOB DESCRIPTION:

· Under the supervision of the Cumberland County 4-H Agent, assist with the implementation of the 4-H Youth Development Program of Rutgers Cooperative Extension components of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) Grant in Lakeside Middle School, Myron L. Powell Elementary School and Woodbine Elementary School.

· To develop, promote, expand and guide the 4-H Youth Development & Family Programs through meetings, personal contacts, workshops and programs presented primarily in the Woodbine Elementary School, Lakeside Middle School and Myron L. Powell.

· To develop, implement and evaluate educational programs for youth in grades 5-8 during the 21st Century Community Learning Centers after-school programs at each of the three schools.

· To develop, plan, conduct and evaluate monthly family programs at each of the three schools.

· To develop promotional materials, prepare monthly family newsletter and press releases, as necessary.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

· Should have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and experience in working with youth and/or families preferred.

· Strong writing, public speaking and interpersonal skills.

· Proficient in using MS Word, Excel and MS Publisher.

· Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

· Must be able to establish working relationships with individuals and groups regardless of socio-economic status. 

· Must be able to accept direction and constructive criticism with a willingness to learn and to compromise.

· Ability to work and problem solve independently and/or with a variety of people in a variety of situations.

· Productive under deadlines and multiple pressures.

· Should possess the initiative, creativity and quality of leadership which is necessary to implement the 4-H educational program.

· The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13 (one year out of high school), on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
