Anticipated Salary Range: $43,000 - $48,000

Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Department Head, assists in the administration of Office operations and is responsible for the following:

Administrative Support: Performs clerical and support work in relation to confidential personnel activities for the department; maintains personnel records; assists program directors in compliance with County personnel policies and procedures; provides supervision and assistance to clerical staff in the department; provides feedback and assistance to program directors on problems, improvements, and suggestions for refinement or changes to enhance and better Office operations; maintains updated list of volunteers on the various Advisory Councils to the department; takes minutes to meetings as requested. Contract/Grant Activities: Assists the Department Head and other staff with contract and grant activities including, obtaining census data, developing budgets, developing timelines, completion and maintenance of proposals, preparing resolutions, and other contract/grant activities as needed; coordinates and oversees the report activities of agencies funded through the Office on Aging including monitoring, assessment, technical assistance, training and follow-up activities. Other Activities: Assist the department and partner agencies with emergency preparedness; represent department at meetings and events as requested; other duties as requested.

Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of experience in program development or in the capacity of an administrative assistant or to an executive-level official in a public or private organization or a combination of the two. Strong knowledge of grant administration, including grant writing and reviewing proposal requests. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including the ability to develop spreadsheets and databases. Ability to use critical-thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Hours: Thirty-five (35) hours per week; Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm.

Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
