Starting Salary $70,000
(Salary Commensurate with Experience)



DEFINITION:
Under Supervision, makes surveys and cost estimates, supervises County employees and outside contractors who are engaged in the construction and/or alteration to public buildings, grounds or facilities; prepares reports and correspondence, does other related duties as required.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Makes continuous surveys of all buildings/facilities for establishing a preventive maintenance and repair program.

Sets up programs for individual properties/facilities based on a priority, so that funds made available for adequate/economical maintenance. Surveys maintenance units to determine their adequacy, efficiency, and ability of personnel to perform maintenance/repair work stemming from physical characteristics of several properties.

Supervises construction projects in the field and acts as representative of the division at construction job meetings, interact with consultants as necessary to successfully complete projects.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions involved in building, grounds or maintenance of facility.

Receives and reviews reports on maintenance, repair and on the construction program for the division.

Prepares, analyzes, and approves items relating building maintenance repair including security and construction programs in the preparation of budget requests for public property and facilities.

Prepares statistical and other summaries and reports on maintenance/repair and construction activities containing findings, conclusions, analyses, and recommendations.

Supervises the establishment and maintenance of records, plans, blueprints, and other files.

REQUIREMENTS:
Five (5) years of supervisory experience in the construction of buildings, building maintenance and structures.
Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position and
the ability to follow prescribed instructions.
High school diploma or GED

LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey; this is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.

Note:
