Community Service Aide
Bilingual in Spanish and English
Salary Range: $13.74/hr – $19.02/hr
Part-Time: 15 hours/week

Open to: Open to residents of Cumberland County.

Duties: Under supervision, does the less difficult and responsible field and office work involved in interviewing community residents and assisting them in obtaining social services or other government aid and support services, or making referrals to other agencies; does other related duties as required.  Must assist in interpreting, and translating materials.

Knowledge  & Abilities: Knowledge of procedures, policies, programs, and resources of local community agencies after a period of training. Ability to learn quickly significant facts in an individual or family situation. Ability to perform tasks accurately within prescribed time frames. Ability to work effectively with associates, superior officials, and members of the public concerned with the work of the department.

Requirements:

SPECIAL SKILL: Applicants must be able to read, write, speak, under communicate in Spanish and English sufficiently the duties of this position.

LICENSE: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform the essential duties of the position.

Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
