Division of Social Services Salary: $26,230
Definition: Under close supervision, performs routine, repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions.
Examples of Work:
• Reviews, sorts, and routes incoming correspondence and prepares letters on routine matters which may not be signed or reviewed by the administrative official entailing a comprehensive knowledge of division programs, objectives, standards, policies, and procedures.
• Sees that pertinent material is obtained from files and other sources, arranges it in a usable form, and prepares memoranda and summaries as required.
• May provide information to those requesting it, including department personnel, representatives of state, local, and other organizations and agencies, and to the public in accord with established policy.
• Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Knowledge:
• Communicate effectively and professionally
• Knowledge of modern office methods to include experience with email and Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and data entry skills
• Knowledge of office routines, procedures, and practices, and their application to specific situations
• Ability to type accurate correspondence and reports
Requirements:
• High school diploma or GED.
• Applicants will be required to demonstrate proficiency in keyboarding or typing of at least 40 net words per minute.
LICENSE:
Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.

Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing that includes drug screening, criminal background check, and verification of a clean driving record.
