Salary Range: $50,000 - $75,000


Duties: Under direction of the County Comptroller – 

Budget - prepares, processes, and monitors the budget; posts budgets to NJ FAST; processes expense/revenue reclassifications and budget modifications; prepares and files Budget Amendment Resolutions; analyzes capital budget; coordinates Bond Ordinances, resolutions, and advertisements with Bond Counsel; creates appropriation accounts and distributes periodic reports; close petty cash at year end; reviews, maintains, and reconciles the fixed asset ledger

Grants - compiles grant budget with supporting documentation; processes amendments; creates, monitors, and closes appropriations and revenues; verifies reimbursement vouchers against expenses; monitors receipts/receivables; processes on-line reimbursements; reviews and processes reports; assists Departments in preparing grant applications and financial reports; regularly utilize grant portals (e.g., DCA SAGE, JAMS, JustGrants, ASAP, etc.)

Purchasing –monitor process in compliance with county policies and state laws / regulations

Accounts Payable – process for payment, certain transactions not directly assigned to other county personnel; resolves workflow issues within and outside of the County Finance Department

Requirements:

The ability to balance multiple tasks in a demanding environment
A “people person” who understands the role of supporting and assisting others

A Bachelor’s degree in accounting or directly related field is required
CMFO/CCFO/QPA/RPPO or CPA/RMA preferred
At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience is required

Technical proficiency in software applications including Office 365 (One-Drive, Teams and Office Apps) and accounting / bookkeeping systems (Edmunds GovTech preferred) and Internet portals
