Starting Salary: $19.38 per hour

 

Duties: Reports to the Library Director. Under supervision, performs at the entry level of the professional librarian class of job, providing a variety of services, including but not limited to programming, as well as research services, collection development, outreach, and related work as required.

Requirements:
Master’s degree in Library or Information Sciences in a library program accredited by the American Library Association or from a New Jersey College Master’s program in Library Science that has been deemed acceptable by Thomas Edison State College.  

Proficiency in Microsoft office is necessary. Familiarity with searching SIRSI/Dynix-based library catalog and prior experience with a public computer and print management system preferred. Ability to assist the public and staff in making effective use of electronic resources. Ability to review areas of the collection to develop or discard/discontinue. Ability to assist in the selection and evaluation of resources and recommend purchases.

Hours: Part-time, not to exceed 18 hours per week. Typical work shifts may vary and may include either a Friday or Saturday each week.

Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
