Narcotics Clinic Aide (Recovery Coach)

Starting Salary: $31, 945.00 - 35,511.00

Duties: Under supervision in a recovery center (to act as a recovery coach), assists professional rehabilitation workers in establishing a dialogue with patients and in encouraging them to abstain from using narcotics. Interviews patients and attempts to gain their confidence by utilizing insight gained through experience with problems facing persons who are at risk or have a substance abuse disorder; encourages subjects to cooperate with the professionals offering psychological and social guidance at  the recovery center; acquaints patients with the resources available to aid them towards rehabilitation; conducts patient educational seminars and community meetings as specified; may transport patients to and from outside scheduled appointments; does other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS). If not currently certified, must obtain CPRS credentials within two years from date of hire. 
Ability to possess sympathetic understanding of the condition and problems of the patient.
Knowledge of problems faced by individuals with a substance use disorder. 
Knowledge of jargon used by individuals with a substance use disorder.
Ability to meet and support persons with a substance abuse disorder and their relatives.
Knowledge of behavior modification techniques.
Ability to work harmoniously with people. 
Ability to utilize various types of electronic office equipment, as well as maintain records and files.
Valid New Jersey Driver’s license. 

Hours:   Full-time 35 hours per week, with weekend and evening hours required. 

Note: 
  Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical 
         fitness testing, to include drug screenings, and criminal background checks.
