Salary: $50,670-57,142


Duties: Under supervision of the Network Administrator 2, receives on-the-job training and assists in the design and preparation of computer programs for electronic data processing equipment; utilizes required and current software, operating systems, and multiprogramming technologies; assists in performing various programming tasks; does other related duties as required.

Requirements: EXPERIENCE:  
One (1) year of experience in the design and preparation of programs for information processing equipment utilizing current operating systems and technology. Three (3) to five (5) years of general computer desktop, server and networking experience preferred. 
Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred. 

-Strong time management skills, project planning and implementation.  Must be a self-starter who is able to work on projects alone or in a group.
-Knowledge of modern office methods and procedures. Knowledge of digital computer equipment capabilities. Knowledge of electronic computer programming procedures and techniques and of the factors involved in the analysis, planning, and design of data processing systems. 
-Ability to analyze data. Ability to reason logically and to draw sound conclusions in recommending courses of action. Ability to review and comprehend agency programs, processes, and methods. Ability to utilize accepted data processing procedures, methods, and techniques. Ability to prepare clear, concise, and accurate reports. Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
-Ability to adhere to applicable security awareness, conflict of interest, and confidentiality guidelines and regulations.  
-The basics of computer systems hardware, industry standard Network Operating Systems (NOS) & networking concepts, server hardware and associated software, countermeasures for dealing with network security and virus protection. Ability to provide technical assistance on problems relating to operating systems, computers, application systems programs, and communications software/hardware.

LICENSE:  Appointees must possess a valid driver's license valid in New Jersey.

Hours: Typical work week is 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday. 

Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, to include drug screenings.
