County Reentry Coordinator - Administration
Salary: Commensurate with experience

Duties:
• Evaluates each inmate within the Cumberland County Department of Corrections who has been sentenced to a term of incarceration or ordered detained pending trial following a pretrial detention hearing.
• Evaluates the needs of each inmate to identify which services and programs from which they would benefit.
• Develops and implements procedures for preparing county inmates for release.
• Plans and coordinates peer counseling programs that support the treatment of county inmates with substance abuse disorders.
• Researches and provides information concerning applications for State and county public assistance program benefits, available substance use disorder treatments and services, relevant social services and reentry and rehabilitative programs, One-Stop Career Center services, insurance eligibility, and any other treatment, services, and programming deemed appropriate upon evaluation.
• Determines whether an inmate is eligible to apply for federal, State, and/or county public assistance benefits programs and insurance coverage.
• Assists inmates with completing applications for, scheduling, and accessing appropriate services and programming upon release from the facility.
• Consults and coordinates with the County Division of Social Services with respect to benefits or services administered by the agency.
• Prepares, updates, and maintains detailed records such as demographic information, intake information, and the number of inmates who are offered and/or accept services.
• Meets regularly with community stakeholders to exchange and develop resources.
• Ensures inmates are aware of discharge processes and procedures upon release from the facility.
• Prepares various monthly and/or annual progress reports and budget analyses.


Requirements:
• Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree including or supplemented by twenty-four (24) semester hour credits in any combination of the following areas: social work, psychology, sociology, guidance and counseling, criminal justice, or law.
• Experience: Two (2) years of experience in programs providing needs assessment, processing referral services, and coordinating support activities. • License: Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey


• Hours: Full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week.


• Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing and drug screening.
