Duties:
Under direction of the Department Head:
Coordinates, promotes, and supervises programs and events associated with the work of the Department, including cultural, community, recreational and open space programming.
Promotes and markets programming and events conducted by or associated with the County of Cumberland.
Implements the work program for promoting the natural attractions, recreational, cultural, tourist, and historic areas of the County of Cumberland.
Organizes, coordinates, and oversees scheduling of events, including those held at the Mid-County Park and County Fairgrounds as well as other entertainment, athletic, social, civic and/or educational functions held by the County or on County property.
May be responsible for designing advertisement and/or promotional items such as brochures, handbills, posters, etc.
May develop and supervise volunteer programs.
Interfaces with government and educational organizations to promote special events appropriate and beneficial to the community.
Formulates and executes plans for effective utilization of available funds, equipment, and supplies.
Prepares reports and correspondence.
Establishes and maintains essential records and files.
May provide supervisory instruction to existing or future staff.

Requirements:
Two (2) years of experience in planning, developing, and supervising events, recreational, educational, or social service programs in a community, agency, or facility setting.
Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English proficiently to perform the duties of this position. 
Possession of a valid New Jersey driver’s license.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree.

Hours:  Typical work shift is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday; however, night and weekend events and activities shall require the ability for a flexible work schedule. Shifts include a 1-hour unpaid meal break. 

Note: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a drug and physical fitness screening.
