Open to: Open to residents of Cumberland County.

Duties: Interviews clients, their families, and other concerned persons and obtains significant health data as needed; Provides consultation to agency staff in assessing social, emotional and adaptive problems. Advises agency staff on community health services to enable them to make appropriate referrals. Works with agency staff in analyzing pertinent community health resources, identifying deficiencies, and in directing community attention toward remedial action. Participates in professional and related meetings and conferences. Prepares reports containing findings, conclusions, and recommendations. Establishes and maintains essential records and files. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and computerized information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Complete daily record log and compile data for county statistics.

Knowledge & Abilities: Knowledge of the community, family, social, economic, health, and other problems and forces influencing clients. Ability to analyze laws, rules, regulations, and procedures and apply them with reasonable consistency to individual cases. Ability to organize assigned social work and develops effective work methods. Ability to maintain essential records and files.  Ability to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. 

Requirements: License:  Appointees will be required to possess a driver’s license valid in New Jersey.Certified Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker strongly preferred.  Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Note: Offers of employment for this title are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing and drug screening.
