Confidential Aide
County Administration/Board of Commissioners
Hourly Rate: $19.00/hour
Duties: Provides administrative and clerical support to County Administration and the Board of Commissioners. Prepares correspondence and reports, communicates with the public via phone and in person, assists the Board Clerk with managing Commissioner’s schedule of events, assists in preparing for Commissioner meetings and makes arrangements for use of conference rooms and schedules meetings, screens and routes inquiries and requests to the appropriate Commissioner and/or County Department for handling, works with various software systems essential to the job position, performs routine and repetitive clerical work involving the processing of documents in a variety of functions, performs all other related office and confidential tasks as required.
Requirements: Three (3) years of experience in the capacity of a confidential secretary to an administrative official in a public or private organization. Ability to follow oral and written directions in a timely and accurate manner. Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with the public. Knowledge of modern office methods to include experience with email, data entry, and proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Hours: The typical work week consists of 35 hours, Monday through Friday; however, flexibility in the work schedule is required. Some evening hours are required for County Commissioner meetings and other relevant events.
Note: Offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of physical fitness testing, including drug screen.
