Salary: $45,000-$50,000 Based on Experience and Credentials


Duties: Under the direction of the Commissioner Director, performs and coordinates administrative support services.

• Acts as principal assistant to the Commissioner Director on administrative matters.
• Ability to work effectively and harmoniously with members of the governing body, County Administration, and the public.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external communication. Position includes writing press releases, creating Social Media posts, and drafting emails and other correspondence.
• Plans, schedules, and attends events, meetings and conferences, and prepares reports thereon.
• Exercises independent judgment and ability to make decisions in accordance with delegated responsibilities. Ensure deadlines are met.
• Ability to plan, organize, and coordinate work in situations where numerous diverse demands are involved.
• Reviews inquiries and responds with the necessary information and assistance in a prompt manner.
• May assist in preparation of requests for appropriate actions, prepare/process related forms, and initiate follow-up action if necessary.
• Performs research, participates in data gathering activities and other assignments for various projects.
• Demonstrates ability to independently and accurately perform varied, complex administrative secretarial, advanced clerical, and program support functions.
• Strong computer literacy and proficiency with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software programs. Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the County.

Requirements: Five (5) years of professional experience in a business or government agency providing administrative support services and/or coordinating work activities OR possession of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university plus one (1) year of the above-mentioned professional experience.

License: Appointee will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.

Hours: Varying schedule; Position requires night and weekend work.
