Environmental Division –Board of Health- Temporary Employee $15.92 per hour
DUTIES: Under supervision of the Environmental Coordinator, performs varied types of environmental investigatory and sampling work, and drives a vehicle in connection with work; does other related duties as required. Drives to various sites throughout the County to conduct water sampling and assist with environmental investigation and enforcement. Conducts electronic data processing related to environmental investigations. May be asked to testify on behalf of the county during court proceedings. Under direction performs routine, repetitive, and noncomplex field and office work and assists in instrument operation, makes the less difficult mathematical calculations, and reduces level notes; Other related work as required.
REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED and, Possession of a valid New Jersey Driver's License, and current enrollment in a Biology, Environmental Science, or Public Health related college curriculum
KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES: Ability to perform manual tasks either alone or as a member of the division.
Ability to perform assigned tasks under varying temperatures and climatic conditions. Ability to learn to use the
tools and equipment necessary to perform routine, unskilled tasks. Ability to follow safety precautions in the
operation of assigned tools and equipment. Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
Schedule: Thirty-five (35) hour per week; Monday through Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Duration: Position would run from mid-May to the first week in September.
