Duties: Under direction of the Division Head, supervises the recruitment and training activities of Omnibus Operators at the Cumberland Area Transit System. Duties include: recruitment of omnibus operators by outreach methods; reviews S-Rides reporting to ensure compliance; ensure proper work methods are followed by assigned staff and suggest appropriate changes to Division Head; monitor staff performance and provide necessary feedback; conduct and oversee new driver training; routine monitoring of on board camera system; accident reporting and investigation; maintains essential records and video record as needed; follow established procedures for the Division’s Safety Management Plan; serve as a back-up driver as necessary; collaborate with dispatch staff and mechanics; use various office computer systems including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Publisher) and routing software; does other duties as needed. Requirements: Three (3) years of experience in operating a motor vehicle used in the transportation of six (6) or more people. Previous experience with coordination of transportation program, staff training experience, or recruitment of staff required. Appointees must possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey with a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement. Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position. Will be required to obtain PASS Certification and Certified Safety Officer Certification through CTAA within 6 months of employment.
Hours: 35 hours per week.
