1/14/2011 - 4-H Is Family Time

How would you like to spend more time together as a family? It’s often a challenge to fit work, family and home life into a demanding schedule, but 4-H offers families the chance to work and learn together. 4-H is not just a youth organization; it’s a family organization.

With more than 100 projects and activities designed to help families learn and grow together, there are many opportunities to develop interests and hobbies as a family. Youth and their families can work together on projects like bicycling, environmental stewardship, insect collecting, robotics, sewing, rocket building, gardening, caring for pets and lots more. The topics are endless!

Don’t miss out on the fun, educational experiences 4-H offers. Join a 4-H club and get into the fun. Call the Cumberland County 4-H Center at (856) 451-2800 to find out about 4-H.

You can even help start a new club in your community. Being involved with 4-H could be one of the best decisions you ever make for you and your family!

4-H is a community of young people across America who are learning leadership, citizenship and life skills. With over 6.5 million young people throughout America, 4-H has grown to encompass youth from urban cities to rural towns. The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, a unit of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station. 4-H educational programs are offered to all youth, grades K-13 (one year out of high school), on an age-appropriate basis, without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
