Tree in Millville Dedicated to Armed Forces

For the second year in a row, the Millville Christmas Tree will be dedicated to those who have served or are still serving in the U.S. military. The tree, located at High and Main, is designed to serve as a reminder of all the men and women serving in the military throughout the world.

All ornaments must be red, white or blue.Last year, Mayor Tim Shannon announced that the tree would have a special theme, that of honoring the country's armed forces. Due to the overwhelming positive response, the city will honor the military again this year.

"We are inviting the entire Millville community to help us decorate this tree," Shannon said. "If you want to remember a veteran who passed, or maybe have a son or daughter serving now, this will be a great way to honor them."

All people, schools, businesses and clubs are invited to decorate the tree. All ornaments must be red, white or blue.

Anyone wishing to have their ornament placed on the tree, or anyone that has a large tree they wish to be donated to be used as the official Christmas Tree may contact the Recreation Department at (856) 825-7000, ext. 7392.
