Need help paying utility bills? Assistance Expo can help. United Way of Cumberland County is hosting the 6th annual Energy and Social Services Assistance Expo at the Alms Center, located at 28 Martin Luther King Jr Way in Bridgeton, on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

This event, which will focus on energy bills and helping residents meet energy costs this winter, is free and open to the public. Representatives from Atlantic City Electric, South Jersey Gas and Tri-County Community Action Partnership will meet with members of the community to take and process applications for assistance programs. Other local health and human service agencies will offer information and education about programs ranging from establishing credit, managing finances, health concerns and food assistance.

Those seeking assistance should bring recent energy bills, proof of income, Social Security card and lease agreement, mortgage statement or property tax form.
