Do You Double Dutch? Then 4-H is for You!

4-H is looking for youth and adults who Double Dutch. Do you know how to jump Double Dutch? Do you know how to turn ropes Double Dutch style? Do you know children who jump Double Dutch? If you answered “Yes” to any of these questions, then call the Cumberland 4-H Program at 856-451-2800 ext. 3 to find out about the 4-H Double Dutch Program.

Double Dutch is a jump-rope activity involving two ropes that are turned “eggbeater” fashion. Teams are made up of three or four youth in the same grade as jumpers and turners for either a singles or doubles team.

Double DutchThe 4-H Double Dutch Program is a fun and educational program that provides an opportunity for boys and girls in grades 3-12 to learn competitive double dutch rope jumping including compulsory, speed and tricks; to participate in exhibitions, contests and special events; to focus on health and fitness; to make new friends; to develop teamwork skills and to earn recognition and receive awards.

Adults who know how to jump Double Dutch or who are interested in health and fitness are needed to assist with the 4-H Double Dutch Program. Please call the 4-H Center at 856-451-2800 ext. 3 for more information.

The 4-H Youth Development Program is part of Rutgers Cooperative Extension, a unit of the Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment station. The 4-H Program is open to all youth in grades K-13 (one year out of high school) regardless of race, color, gender, national origin, religion, sexual orientation or disability.

Any boy or girl in grades 3-12 interested in learning about the 4-H Double Dutch project should call the 4-H Double Dutch Coordinator, Phyllis Buck at 856-451-2800 ext. 3.
