Find What You Need At The Library

Cumberland County Library continues to provide classes and information to fuel business development, assist with job searching, support community growth, aid in research and encourage achievement in learning.

Find What You Need At The LibraryWith a long tradition of mutual support, county libraries work together to offer maximum service.

Libraries are vital to helping workers to keep their jobs or get new ones, children to learn to read, students to do homework, writers to do research, senior citizens to get information about health, and everyone to keep up with the news or check e-mails through access to the Internet. For some, the library with books, magazines, newspapers and Internet is their only source for the information they need.

The Internet has become an important tool for learning and communicating. The county library’s online catalog operates on the web and many other library resources are accessible via the web, making learning more accessible 24-7.

The shared online catalog, http://catalog.clueslibs.org, not only offers easy access for checking resources from home, the office or the library, but also quickly offers librarians the opportunity to check for items avoiding unnecessary duplication.

Many electronic databases are purchased by the state library cooperative at huge cost savings – often free - for the libraries. Students or anyone researching or learning can access numerous databases including the EBSCOhost databases from home or the office by going to the CLUES website, www.clueslibs.org. Those searching for jobs or career changes have the use of Career Transitions and Job and Career Accelerator.
