Take Advantage of Energy Rebates Before They Run Out

February 13, 2012

Time is ticking down on clean energy rebates for New Jersey home and business owners, and Cumberland County officials want to make sure local residents don’t miss out.

New Jersey’s Clean Energy Program offers residents solutions to improve their home’s comfort and reduce energy costs by up to 30%.  An expert will perform a home assessment identifying energy-efficient recommendations. The program provides up to $5,000 in incentives plus 0% financing to pay for the improvements.

The program also offers homeowners up to $500 for installing new energy-efficient central air conditioning systems, and up to $400 for installing new high-efficiency heating equipment.

“This is a great opportunity for our residents to save money and energy for years to come,” said Cumberland County Freeholder Carl Kirstein.  “These funding dollars are limited, so I would urge homeowners to look into this and take advantage of it while they can.”

A separate program for businesses offers eligible customers funding for energy-efficient lighting replacement, HVAC and other equipment.

Residents have only until June 30th, 2012 or when State Energy Program (SEP) funding runs out.  The deadline for the business program is a month earlier on May 31st, 2012.
