Cumberland County Announces a New Prescription Drug Discount Program for Residents

Cumberland County , NJ – Cumberland County Freeholder Director William F. Whelan announced a discount prescription drug program for Cumberland County residents. The discount program is open to all residents, regardless of their age or income and is designed to help reduce the cost of prescription drugs. The Program is at no cost to our residents.

Director Whelan said, “Cumberland County is pleased to partner with ProAct, which offers a discount program that covers all prescription medications, brand or generic. The program even extends its coverage to pet medications that can be filled at a regular retail pharmacy”. He said, “On average, participants can expect to save 10- to 20 percent on brand drugs and 20 to 70 percent on generic drugs”.

The prescription discount card may be used at any participating pharmacy in Cumberland County and at over 55,000 pharmacies nationwide. It is important to note that the cards cannot be used in conjunction with any other type of insurance, to reduce co-pays or with other discount programs.

ProAct is a subsidiary of Kinney Drugs. The ProAct discounts are made possible through negotiated rates with participating locations.

For more information, including a list of participating pharmacies, contact ProAct toll-free at 877-776-2285 or visit www.NJRxDiscountCard.com.
