Nominated for People’s Choice Award
VINELAND – Cumberland County College’s Guaracini Performing Arts Center (GPAC) is pleased to announce its nomination in the 2016 JerseyArts.com People’s Choice Awards.
Nominated in the category of Favorite Small Performing Arts Center, the College’s respected performance venue will compete with seven other centers throughout the state in a race that will be decided by the voting public.
The GPAC is a cultural hub in South Jersey, providing a diverse range of musical, theatrical and dance performances throughout the year for audiences of all ages. It is one of the homes of the Bay-Atlantic Symphony and home of the perennial award-winning Cumberland County College Theater Department.
Now in its eighth year, the People’s Choice Awards run by Discover Jersey Arts pay tribute to the work of New Jersey’s vital, vibrant and diverse arts organizations. With the ballots now prepped, it’s time for arts lovers across the state to vote for their favorite N.J. arts organizations.
The 2016 People’s Choice Awards were nominated by their peers through the Jersey Arts Marketers network, which is made up of hundreds of nonprofit arts groups across the state. Now, 10 arts districts and 100 organizations—the greatest number of nominees the Awards has received since its creation in 2008—will compete in 16 categories, including favorite large and small perfoming arts center, dance company, art gallery, choral group and more.
Public voting began January 6 and runs through February 11, 2016. Winners will be announced and honored in early March at the New Jersey Conference on Tourism in Atlantic City.
