4/13/2021 - Cumberland County Announces Drive-Thru Hiring Event

CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NEW JERSEY (April 12, 2021) On April 20, 2021, the Cumberland County Department of Workforce Development will host a unique drive-thru hiring event for available positions in local Advanced Manufacturing industries. Advanced manufacturing companies use innovative technologies to improve products or processes. The hiring event will be held at the Rowan College of South Jersey, Cumberland Campus, from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. Interested applicants will drive in to the event and receive hiring event packets that will include the job openings, job title, job description, location, wages and application information for positions with over 30 local businesses. A map to direct job seekers through the event is available at the Workforce Development Department’s website www.ccoel.org. The event will include a location designated for attendees to complete and return job application information.

Registration is required to attend the event. To register, job seekers must go to the Department of Workforce Development website at www.ccoel.org, click the designated link for Customer Registration, and complete and return the form to our Business Services staff at abarnes@ccoel.org. Job seekers can also call the Business Services staff at 856-696-5660 x3041 to complete the registration by phone. A rain date for the event has been scheduled for April 21, 2021.

Joseph Derella, Director of the Cumberland County Commissioners, is encouraging people seeking employment to attend the drive-thru event, “The number of jobs being created by advanced manufacturing companies in the Cumberland County area has been growing rapidly.” Derella added, “Our local businesses are on the cutting edge of new manufacturing technologies and these companies have an increasing need for workers to fill jobs that turn into rewarding careers.” Derella continued, “The success of our existing advanced manufacturers is paving the way for the recruitment of new advanced manufacturing technology firms to our County.” Derella concluded, “I applaud our Department of Workforce Development for their ingenuity in creating a safe, socially distanced COVID jobs event that will benefit both our residents seeking employment and our employers seeking qualified employees.”
