Cumberland County Library Completes Renovations
Bridgeton, NJ (August 23, 2023)- The recent renovations to the Cumberland County Library has propelled it into the 21st century and beyond. The County Library has been a place where anyone in the community can come to read, create, relax, and learn. The Children's area on the lower level has been upgraded in addition to the new space in the upper level for teens. The computer lab is filled with new computers and offers a variety of computer classes. There is a laptop station that allows students and library users to take a laptop and use it all throughout the library. Additionally, they have invested in a new virtual reality trades training program they are confident will position them to explore hands on employment options in the virtual space. We are excited for the community to come and see all we have to offer.
Present for the grand reopening was State Librarian Jen Nelson, Ralph Bingham, the Executive Director of Library Link NJ, Cumberland County Administration and Commissioners Douglas Albrecht and Donna Pearson. Library Director Jennifer Brenner gave a tour of the remodeled spaces and shared her vision for the future of the library and other projects.
Commissioner Director Douglas Albrecht stated “As a result of this successful renovation, Cumberland County Library is poised to receive additional grant monies to expand the library systems and be able to offer additional services to students and library users. Library Director Jennifer Brenner and the dedicated volunteers have done a fantastic job at moving this project along to completion.”
“The renovations will lay a strong foundation for the future growth of the Cumberland County Library. This library is an oasis full of resources and services staffed by exceptional individuals and volunteers who make the library a wonderful place to visit for the entire family” stated Commissioner Donna Pearson.
