Please comply with the following rules and regulations so that we may respect the service of our Veterans laid to rest in this place of honor.
Military and Veterans’ Cemeteries can be very confusing for families to understand as there are rules and regulations that may feel stringent and restrictive compared to Civilian Cemeteries.
Military Basic Training involves service members losing their individuality and learning to be one team. Wearing of the uniform is loaded with rules and regulations. Military persons are not free to express their individuality but rather they sacrifice that to be the same for the greater good. Hence, why in Military and Veterans’ Cemeteries, these same types of rules and regulations apply. Each Veteran interred in our Cemetery understood what that was like to lose self and be part of something bigger. As a result, we honor them by upholding these standards and practices that they upheld when they were in the military. This is what makes a Veterans’ cemetery unique and special.
US Flags (12” x 18”) will be placed on the Top Left of each Veteran’s grave marker at a specified time during Memorial Day and Veterans’ Day observances.
